Wilton Electrical Turns 10!
A look back at how Wilton began & where we are headed...

This year, Wilton Electrical celebrates a whole 10 years in business – and what a ride it’s been! From our early days as a tight-knit trio to building a team full of apprentices, tradies, and lifelong friends, Glenn has grown from a sole trader to registered company.
Here's a look back on our journey so far – full of milestones, memorable faces, and a whole lot of laughs (and maybe a few tears)...
2015 – Wilton is Born
After 15 years as a sole trader, Glenn took the leap and officially founded ‘Wilton Electrical’. I think Kim credits herself for this cliff jump. With Taylor (since 2011) and Ella (since 2013) already in the mix, we hit the ground running. We were also one year into a huge Williamtown project reimagining the Worimi Cultural Centre.
2016 – Growing the Team
This was a big year: Chris joined as our first qualified electrician, soon followed by Dave (also fully qualified), and Josh, who became Wilton’s first school-based apprentice. We started laying the groundwork for what would become a pretty-special team & continuing big projects with a bigger team.
2017 – Across the Sea
We welcomed Tom, who came all the way from Norfolk Island as a third-year apprentice. This was also the year we took on the Test Tag and repair work for Reflections Caravan Park along the mid north coast of NSW. We were away from home a lot there for a while, but it was such rewarding work & a really unique way to discover new towns & project our name further than Newcastle.
2018 – Mature Aged Apprentices & Awards
This year, Julian jumped onboard — an already qualified shipwright, he took on the challenge of becoming a mature-aged apprentice. Ella was interviewed in front of a HRATA panel & later invited to their awards evening & announced the winner of ‘Women in Non-Traditional Roles’
2019 – Sam Joins the Ranks
Sam came onboard as a second-year apprentice, bringing with him solid skills and even better banter. Every new team member adds a little spark (pun intended), and Sam fit right in.

2020 – The Covid Curveball
Like everyone, we had to adapt. Covid threw a few things off course, a lot for Wilton TBH, but Dave made a bold move to Jindabyne, becoming our permanent albeit temporary Wilton presence in the Snowy Mountains. A year of change, challenge, and resilience.
2021 – New Paths
Tom left Wilton expanding into Level II, and Dave, clearly bitten by the snow bug, moved on to become a well-known ski resort’s resident electrician. We always support our team wherever life takes them – especially if it’s into a ski lift.
2022 – Shifting Gears
After years on the tools, Ella stepped away from site work but stayed very much part of Wilton, keeping our operations and social media ticking along behind the scenes. We were also at a one year milestone into the ‘Housing for Health’ project which involves coming into Indigenous communities to upgrade and maintain all things electric in their homes & community centres.
2023 – Welcomes and Farewells
We said hello to Noah, an emerging Electrician, who came with great spirit, and goodbye to Taylor, who had been with us from the beginning. We also celebrated Julian completing his apprenticeship — an incredible achievement and a proud moment for the team.
2024 – New Crew, Big Changes
Jackson (3rd year) and Olli (2nd year) arrived close together, ‘connecting’ the team as it evolved from original to next chapter. Change must come, and it so it was time to farewell Sam and Josh.
2025 – A Milestone Year
This year, we welcomed the Owens Brothers: Angus in January and Max in April. In a full-circle moment, Max officially signed on as an apprentice on the exact day of our 10-year anniversary.
(Someone pass the tissues.)
Here's to the Next 10
Through ten years, dozens of projects, early starts, and late finishes — it’s the people who’ve made Wilton what it is. Whether you’ve been part of the crew, a client, or someone cheering us on from the sidelines — we couldn’t have done it without you, thank you.
Here’s to the next decade of Wilton Electrical — brighter, stronger, and ever evolving.
